Sutton Road Primary School and Nursery

Breakfast & Afterschool Club

Explosion! The Altogether Club.

Sutton Road Primary School doesn’t run its own Breakfast and afterschool provision, however we work in partnership with The Explosion Club that’s run on our school site. Whilst the club is run separately from school, many of our school staff also work at the Explosion Breakfast and Afterschool Club.

Please read on for more details… 😊

Club Aims:

Our aim is to make ‘Explosion! The Altogether Club’ affordable for our families at Sutton Road Primary School. Our pricing and policies help to keep the club sustainable and ensure children have a high-quality experience of care and enjoyment.

Meet the team

Manager – Lucy Winfield

Playworkers – Lynne White, Claire Beacroft, Sonia Harewood, Helen Shepherd.

All of our team are members of The Sutton Road staff team so all the children are familiar with the staff, which makes building a good relationship with any new children joining the club easy as there is always a familiar face. This also maintains good communication between school and club at all times.

Opening times

Breakfast Club

Doors open at 7.20am. We respectfully ask that parents do not bring their children before this time due to on site insurance purposes. Children need to be dropped off by an adult and are not deemed in our care until they are signed in on our register when entering club.

Breakfast served is a wide variety of cereals and toast. All dietary requirements are catered for – please speak to a member of the team.

Children are delivered to their classes by staff at the start of the school day.

After School Club

Children are collected from their classes by staff at the end of the school day.

Children are registered and safety checks are made to ensure all children are booked in and present.

A wide variety of snacks are served on a daily basis so your child will not be given the same snack repeatedly.  This is classed as a snack and is something for them to eat before your child gets home for tea…for example – cheese and crackers, sandwich, hot dog, slice of pizza, beans on toast.

Children need to be collected by a designated adult, parent or carer.

If children are not collected by the latest time of 5:30pm this will be logged as a late collection. A record of this will be kept and sanctions will be made if it continues on a regular basis and parents could be asked to find alternative childcare.

Activities

We believe in free play. We therefore encourage the children to choose their own activities whilst at club but offer toys, games, books and lots of arts and crafts and always have these on hand for the children to do. We make craft pieces in club for the children to take home and baking too.

We plan our displays and craft work for occasions, cultural events and seasonal celebrations.
